Eastern Island

An Eastern Island silhouette
draws me in like a line and hook
On the lip of her bay a
Solitary sultry Arbutus tree
is putting on a strip show
for all the kelp to see.
Her curvatious body
peels back the layers and
Quietly stands still as we stare.
Gently, gently by the westardly wind
her newly naked branches are
blown kisses again.
This breeze weaves though her leaves
whispering sweet secrets we all strain to hear.
Tossed nearer, we strain,
then torn away by the tide.
Tossed nearer again,
But the tide tears us each time
Away from her body, her strip show of sin.
So I am teased by an eastern island silhouette
that draws me in like a line and hook,
and on the lip of her bay,
we poor salty kelp cannot look away.
