Through the Clouds

Through the clouds
Sunshine is just
as lovely
Through the curtains
breezes are just
as breezy
Statelites and seagulls
search in the sky
and perch and chirp
the afternoon away
I don’t want to get high
I don’t want clouded vision
Twisted and demented perception
Everything that’s presented to me
will be forgotten the next day
I don’t want more drugs
I just want to get away
I want to open up my belly
and pour everything out
my stomach and my liver
and all my guts
spill it onto an audience of penguins
Through the clouds
Sunshine is just
as lovely
Through the curtains
breezes are just
as breezy
Statelites and seagulls
searchin’ the sky
perch perch and chirp chirp
the afternoon away
The wind is curly
And the sunshine it prickles
and I’m craving something, but it’s
not for my body
it’s for my mind,
it’s for my eyeballs I crave it
but i spit at it
I don’t want more drugs
I don’t want more drugs today
I don’t want more drugs
I just want to get away
